The nine streets criss-crossing the major canals offer fantastic boutique shopping, great eating-out and fabulous Old Amsterdam café entertainment. The Jordaan is a picturesque area housing much of the city’s artistic community. You’ll understand the name’s derivation from the French jardin on seeing the plentiful trees, flower pots and roof gardens decorating the houses. The renowned Anne Frank House is also only ten minutes walk away.
